So, can you walk us through what the average morning would be like for you?
I wake up by alarm; I’m not one of those people that can wake up by the sunlight. I do some deep breathing, a little bit of meditation, 5-10 minutes is all it takes, try to fit in a stretch, go get my coffee and then I go to work!
You’ve always been apart of the fitness realm, so why did you choose to specialize in Pilates?
When I started getting involved in Pilates, I found that not only did my body change but because there’s such a strong emphasise on form, breath and mind-body connection, it really became a part of me. Pilates has become an extension of me and I really believe it changed my life.
What made you want to start teaching and what do you love about it?
I started teaching Pilates because when you feel like you have experienced some kind of growth or transformation, you really want to share it. Since it did change my life and it means so much to me, I want other people to have that same feeling, and benefit from it in the same way. The most rewarding part about teaching Pilates would definitely be the connection and making people feel good.
Let’s talk nutrition. What role does it play in your life?
Nutrition is definitely a big part of my life. I think we get all the nutrients we need from food, so we need to be diligent about what we put into our bodies. I think as a society, we tend to over eat but also be too clinical about food at times. We need to appreciate that food is fuel, so fuel your temple! Don’t shy away from foods but understand what certain foods provide you and make choices based on that.
Speaking of nutrition, what’s your favourite cheat meal?
Italian food! Pasta & wine, I definitely love a nice vino.
What’s your favourite spot to hit for brunch?
Miss Alex and Co is my go to. I probably live there now. Also pretty much anywhere that sells an acai bowl – I’m sold!
Let’s put brunch aside for a minute, tell me about how you first got into music?
I grew up surrounded by live bands and this was my first real exposure to music. It was definitely realized at a young age, before primary school, that I had this kind of big voice inside this little tiny person. I just ended up exploring that and ever since music has been my joy.
So who would you say is your music inspo?
Erykah Badu. I’ve also always been a big fan of Prince as well. I love all music, I think musicians can love and draw inspiration from any genre.
What about your fitness inspiration?
Sara Colquhoun, the owner of the studio, she’s a mentor of mine. I’ve always looked up to her; she inspires me all the time! I think its good to draw inspiration from others but I believe the person you should chase in your life is your better self. That’s kind of my mantra.

Summer or Winter?
What do you like about summer?
EVERYTHING. And absolutely nothing about winter.
Taking it back to fitness, if you could pick one person to do a Pilates class with, who would it be?
Probably some world leaders! I’d want to get them really vulnerable so I can pick their brain and see what its all about. Maybe ill get some honesty because I’ve got them off their pedestal.
How about active wear? What do you love about it?
I love active wear because its super comfortable and holds everything in. It also celebrates different sizes so anyone can look and feel really good in it. I think as a society we’re much more fit conscientious but seek that luxurious look in our active wear. Contrology hits it in that regard.
Yes - just one on my wrist. It’s a circle. It represents a cycle, an orbit, evolution, and its life. I’ve never been one to have or even think about getting ink, and then I woke up one morning and was like “ this is what I want. It’s all I want and I need it” so I went and got it.
Last but not least, do you have any words of wisdom for the ladies who didn’t get out of bed for class this morning?
Plain and simple, get your ass to class ladies!!
